    Proving just how fast time is going, it’s now ten years to the day since the Nine Network (and some affiliated stations) reinstated the iconic Nine dots to the logo! To mark the occasion, I’ve decided to do a write-up about my memories along with reposting some video.

    If I remember correctly, it was just after midnight that the 5 Second “We♥TV” Idents started airing on Nine Sydney although the station was watermark-less with the old/2007 PRG still in use until Today at 6am (the 5.30am starts for Today and an Early News bulletin didn’t exist until later that year) when the relaunch “officially” took place.

    The main “centrepiece” of the relaunch was probably the full 60 Second “Smile” Ident which had it’s first airing just before the 6pm news that night:

    It’s quite interesting to look back on this now for all the on-air personalities who’ve since left Nine and in one or two cases, didn’t have any prominent on-air role at the network that year. Funnily enough both newsreaders (yes, Usher makes an appearance if you look closely enough) in the “Sydney news” scenes are now at Seven!

    Toddy Time is an Australian television series which aired in Melbourne during 1961, on station GTV-9. The first episode aired 1 May 1961.[1] It was a daytime series made up of various segments, including "camera test", which was a talent segment. The series aired at 11:30AM, and was typically the first show of the day (television in Australia and many other countries was not yet a 24-hour service). It was hosted by Hal Todd.
