History
[edit]It was created in the second quarter 19th century, most probably in Delhi or the surrounding areas by goldsmiths and jewellers. It is strictly speaking not a crown, but an article of head dress. The materials used are gold, turquoises, rubies, diamonds, pearls, emeralds, feathers and velvet. Its dimensions are 28.5 x 23.5 x 23.5 cm.[citation needed]

Introduction
Bahadur Shah Zafar was the twentieth and final Mughal emperor of India. He was also known as Bahadur Shah II, and he was a nominal ruler whose powers were restricted to Shahjahanabad. He brushed his craft in music, poetry, and calligraphy as he was fascinated by the art and beauty of things.
Bahadur Shah Zafar stepped up to the throne of the Mughal Empire at the age of 62, following his father, Emperor Akbar Shah II, and governed for 20 years until the beginning of the First War of Independence in 1857.
The British accused him of a number of crimes and put him in prison in Rangoon after he took part in the Indian Revolt of 1857.
He was important in raising troops under his leadership for the Indian uprising of 1857, even if his reign was small in comparison to that of his famous ancestors like Akbar. He was a talented calligrapher and Urdu poet. He wrote the Ghazal that followed as his own memorial.
